activerecord-duplicate
Duplicating ActiveRecords is easy again. All you have to do:
class Post < ActiveRecord::Base
end
post.duplicate
You want more control? Check out this example:
class Post < ActiveRecord::Base
# Don't duplicate if callback (on original object) returns false!
before_duplication(on: :original) { self.is_copyrighted? }
after_duplication(on: :original) { self. }
after_duplication(on: :duplicate) { self. }
has_many :comments
has_many :tags
# Only these attributes and associations will be duplicated.
attr_duplicatable :title, :content, :tags
end
class Tag < ActiveRecord::Base
belongs_to :post
attr_duplicatable :tag, :post
end
class Comment < ActiveRecord::Base
end
# Duplicates non-copyrighted posts and tags as well, but ignores comments.
post.duplicate
