Contextual

Add support for model 'roles' or 'contexts' to ActiveRecord

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'contextual'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install contextual

Usage

Create a folder anywhere in the app directory (ex. app/contexts/) Create modules of similar methods that define roles or contexts (ex. Buyer, Seller might be User contexts) Set up the model:

class User < ActiveRecord::Base
  has_context :buyer, using: Buyer
  has_context :seller, using: [Seller, Payable]
end

Now, instead of User.new, you can use User.with_context(:buyer) to create an instance that includes only the modules specified in the context definition
