Minecraft::Data

Minecraft Data is a dead simple ruby gem to gather different pieces of information related to Minecraft player profiles.

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'minecraft-data'

And then execute:

$ bundle install

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install minecraft-data

Usage

.username_to_uuid() .uuid_to_username()

Retrieve the username of a given player uuid and vice versa.

  Minecraft::Data.username_to_uuid('069a79f4-44e9-4726-a5be-fca90e38aaf5')
  Minecraft::Data.uuid_to_username('Notch')

Output:

  Notch
  069a79f4-44e9-4726-a5be-fca90e38aaf5

.name_history_of_username() .name_history_of_uuid()

Retrieve the name history of a player by it's uuid or username.

  Minecraft::Data.name_history_of_uuid('BGMP')

Output:

.head_url_of()

Retrieves a link pointing to an image of the given user's skin head. true or false depending on whether you want the skin's overlay to be present or not.

  Minecraft::Data.head_url_of('069a79f4-44e9-4726-a5be-fca90e38aaf5', true, 90)
  Minecraft::Data.head_url_of('069a79f4-44e9-4726-a5be-fca90e38aaf5', false, 180)

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake spec to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
