Description

A gem for sanitizing data into your database.

Install

The best way to install is to add it to your Gemfile via:

gem 'attr_sanitizable'

Usage

class MyModel < ActiveRecord::Base
  attr_sanitizable :email, with: [:strip, :downcase]

  # Send actions that have params as follows
  attr_sanitizable :phone, with: [[:scan, /\d/], :join, [:sub, /^1/, '']]
end

m = MyModel.new
m.email = " [email protected]\n" 
# => "[email protected]"

Custom Sanitizers

class String
  def troll
    self.gsub(/a/, "@")
  end
end

class User < ActiveRecord::Base
  attr_sanitizable :email, with: [:troll]
end

user = User.new
user.email = "[email protected]"
# => "nobody@[email protected]"
