#configure {|config| ... } ⇒ Client::Configuration

Configure the Policies Client instance.

The configuration is set to the derived mode, meaning that values can be changed, but structural changes (adding new fields, etc.) are not allowed. Structural changes should be made on configure.

See Configuration for a description of the configuration fields.

Yields:

    Configure the Client client.

#create_policy(request, options = nil) ⇒ ::Gapic::Operation #create_policy(parent: nil, policy: nil, policy_id: nil) ⇒ ::Gapic::Operation

Creates a policy.

Examples:

Basic example

require "google/iam/v2"

# Create a client object. The client can be reused for multiple calls.
client = Google::Iam::V2::Policies::Rest::Client.new

# Create a request. To set request fields, pass in keyword arguments.
request = Google::Iam::V2::CreatePolicyRequest.new

# Call the create_policy method.
result = client.create_policy request

# The returned object is of type Gapic::Operation. You can use it to
# check the status of an operation, cancel it, or wait for results.
# Here is how to wait for a response.
result.wait_until_done! timeout: 60
if result.response?
  p result.response
else
  puts "No response received."
end

Overloads:

  • #create_policy(request, options = nil) ⇒ ::Gapic::Operation

    Pass arguments to create_policy via a request object, either of type CreatePolicyRequest or an equivalent Hash.

    Parameters:

    • request (::Google::Iam::V2::CreatePolicyRequest, ::Hash)

      A request object representing the call parameters. Required. To specify no parameters, or to keep all the default parameter values, pass an empty Hash.

    • options (::Gapic::CallOptions, ::Hash) (defaults to: nil)

      Overrides the default settings for this call, e.g, timeout, retries etc. Optional.

  • #create_policy(parent: nil, policy: nil, policy_id: nil) ⇒ ::Gapic::Operation

    Pass arguments to create_policy via keyword arguments. Note that at least one keyword argument is required. To specify no parameters, or to keep all the default parameter values, pass an empty Hash as a request object (see above).

    Parameters:

    • parent (::String) (defaults to: nil)

      Required. The resource that the policy is attached to, along with the kind of policy to create. Format: policies/{attachment_point}/denypolicies

      The attachment point is identified by its URL-encoded full resource name, which means that the forward-slash character, /, must be written as %2F. For example, policies/cloudresourcemanager.googleapis.com%2Fprojects%2Fmy-project/denypolicies.

      For organizations and folders, use the numeric ID in the full resource name. For projects, you can use the alphanumeric or the numeric ID.

    • policy (::Google::Iam::V2::Policy, ::Hash) (defaults to: nil)

      Required. The policy to create.

    • policy_id (::String) (defaults to: nil)

      The ID to use for this policy, which will become the final component of the policy's resource name. The ID must contain 3 to 63 characters. It can contain lowercase letters and numbers, as well as dashes (-) and periods (.). The first character must be a lowercase letter.

Yields:

  • (result, operation)

    Access the result along with the TransportOperation object

Yield Parameters:

  • result (::Gapic::Operation)
  • operation (::Gapic::Rest::TransportOperation)

Returns:

  • (::Gapic::Operation)

Raises:

  • (::Google::Cloud::Error)

    if the REST call is aborted.

client = Google::Iam::V2::Policies::Rest::Client.new

# Create a request. To set request fields, pass in keyword arguments.

Overloads:

  • #delete_policy(request, options = nil) ⇒ ::Gapic::Operation

    Pass arguments to delete_policy via a request object, either of type DeletePolicyRequest or an equivalent Hash.

    Parameters:

    • request (::Google::Iam::V2::DeletePolicyRequest, ::Hash)

      A request object representing the call parameters. Required. To specify no parameters, or to keep all the default parameter values, pass an empty Hash.

    Parameters:

    • name (::String) (defaults to: nil)

      Required. The resource name of the policy to delete. Format: policies/{attachment_point}/denypolicies/{policy_id}

      Use the URL-encoded full resource name, which means that the forward-slash character, /, must be written as %2F. For example, policies/cloudresourcemanager.googleapis.com%2Fprojects%2Fmy-project/denypolicies/my-policy.

      For organizations and folders, use the numeric ID in the full resource name. For projects, you can use the alphanumeric or the numeric ID.

    • etag (::String) (defaults to: nil)

      Optional. The expected etag of the policy to delete. If the value does not match the value that is stored in IAM, the request fails with a 409 error code and ABORTED status.

      If you omit this field, the policy is deleted regardless of its current etag.

Yields:

      For organizations and folders, use the numeric ID in the full resource name. For projects, you can use the alphanumeric or the numeric ID.

    • page_size (::Integer) (defaults to: nil)

      The maximum number of policies to return. IAM ignores this value and uses the value 1000.

    • page_token (::String) (defaults to: nil)

      A page token received in a ListPoliciesResponse. Provide this token to retrieve the next page.

Yields:

  • (result, operation)

    Access the result along with the TransportOperation object

Yield Parameters:

Returns:

Raises:

  • (::Google::Cloud::Error)

    if the REST call is aborted.

#update_policy(request, options = nil) ⇒ ::Gapic::Operation #update_policy(policy: nil) ⇒ ::Gapic::Operation

Updates the specified policy.

You can update only the rules and the display name for the policy.

To update a policy, you should use a read-modify-write loop:

  1. Use GetPolicy to read the current version of the policy.
  2. Modify the policy as needed.
  3. Use UpdatePolicy to write the updated policy.

This pattern helps prevent conflicts between concurrent updates.

Examples:

Basic example

require "google/iam/v2"

# Create a client object. The client can be reused for multiple calls.
client = Google::Iam::V2::Policies::Rest::Client.new

# Create a request. To set request fields, pass in keyword arguments.
request = Google::Iam::V2::UpdatePolicyRequest.new

# Call the update_policy method.
result = client.update_policy request

# The returned object is of type Gapic::Operation. You can use it to
# check the status of an operation, cancel it, or wait for results.
# Here is how to wait for a response.
result.wait_until_done! timeout: 60
if result.response?
  p result.response
else
  puts "No response received."
end

Overloads:

  • #update_policy(request, options = nil) ⇒ ::Gapic::Operation

    Pass arguments to update_policy via a request object, either of type UpdatePolicyRequest or an equivalent Hash.

    Parameters:

    • request (::Google::Iam::V2::UpdatePolicyRequest, ::Hash)

Optional.

  • #update_policy(policy: nil) ⇒ ::Gapic::Operation

    Pass arguments to update_policy via keyword arguments. Note that at least one keyword argument is required. To specify no parameters, or to keep all the default parameter values, pass an empty Hash as a request object (see above).

    Parameters:

    • policy (::Google::Iam::V2::Policy, ::Hash) (defaults to: nil)

      Required. The policy to update.

      To prevent conflicting updates, the etag value must match the value that is stored in IAM. If the etag values do not match, the request fails with a 409 error code and ABORTED status.

Yields:

  • (result, operation)

    Access the result along with the TransportOperation object

Yield Parameters:

  • result (::Gapic::Operation)
  • operation (::Gapic::Rest::TransportOperation)

Returns:

  • (::Gapic::Operation)

Raises:

  • (::Google::Cloud::Error)

    if the REST call is aborted.
