Jdbc::Mssql

This Ruby gem loads the Microsoft SQL Server JDBC driver. Install this gem and require 'jdbc/mssql' within JRuby

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'jdbc-mssql'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install jdbc-mssql

Usage

This is a very minimal and basic sample.

connection_string = [
  'jdbc:sqlserver://192.168.1.3:1433',
  'database=sample_development',
  'user=sa',
  'password=sa_password'
].join(';')

connection = java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(connection_string)

statement = connection.createStatement

sql_query = 'SELECT * FROM types'

result = statement.executeQuery(sql_query)

while result.next
  puts [result.getString(1), result.getString(2), result.getString(3)]
end

Supported versions

Supported Java version are 8, 11 or greater

Starting from driver version 12.2.0 gem follows same version as jdbc driver

Old Gems versioning

Do not use these versions unless you have to such as java 7, 9, or 10

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake spec to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
