#erf(x) ⇒ Float (private)

Returns the value of the Gauss error function for x.

- Domain: <tt>[-INFINITY, INFINITY]</tt>.
- Range: <tt>[-1, 1]</tt>.

Examples:

  erf(-INFINITY) # => -1.0
  erf(0.0)       # => 0.0
  erf(INFINITY)  # => 1.0
